1. About this policy

This Cookie Policy explains how MHP Pacific Limited (“MHP Pacific”, “we”, “us”, “our”) uses cookies and similar technologies on the website mhpglobal.ca and on all its language versions (the “Website”).

MHP Pacific Limited is a company registered in Canada, with its registered office at 170 Evans Avenue, Suite 201-G & H, Toronto, Ontario, M8Z 1J7, Canada. MHP Pacific is part of the MHP group of companies (“MHP Group”).

This policy should be read together with our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle personal information more generally.

2. What cookies are

Cookies are small text files that a website places on your device (computer, tablet or smartphone) when you visit it. They allow the website to recognise your device, remember your preferences and collect statistical information about how the site is used.

Alongside cookies, we may use other similar technologies — tags, pixels, JavaScript scripts, server log files and local browser storage. In this policy all of these are referred to collectively as “cookies”.

Cookies are divided into:

  • first-party cookies — placed by the Website itself;
  • third-party cookies — placed by third-party services used on the Website (for example, Google Analytics);
  • session cookies — deleted automatically when you close your browser;
  • persistent cookies — retained on your device for a defined period or until you delete them.

3. Consent and legal basis

We use strictly necessary cookies without your consent, because the Website cannot function properly without them.

All other cookies (analytics, statistics, marketing) are placed only after you have given consent through the cookie banner shown on your first visit to the Website.

You may withdraw your consent at any time (see section 7). Withdrawal of consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before the withdrawal.

We process the data obtained through cookies in accordance with:

  • the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA), Canada;
  • the Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector (Quebec, as amended by Law 25), where it applies to visitors located in Quebec;
  • the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the UK GDPR, where you access the Website from the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom;
  • the applicable data protection legislation of your country of residence, where it applies to us.

4. Categories of cookies we use

4.1. Strictly necessary and functional cookies. They ensure the Website operates correctly, keep the language version you have selected, and record your cookie preferences. They cannot be disabled through the banner; you may block them via your browser settings, but parts of the Website may then stop working correctly.

4.2. Analytics and performance cookies. They help us understand how visitors find and use the Website — which pages are viewed, how long visitors stay, which navigation paths they take, from which country and which type of device they connect. We use this data in aggregated form to improve the structure and content of the Website. These cookies are placed only with your consent.

4.3. Marketing and advertising cookies. Used to measure the effectiveness of advertising campaigns and, where applicable, to display relevant advertising on third-party resources. As at the date of this policy, we do not use advertising cookies on the Website. If they are introduced, this policy will be updated and consent will be requested through the banner.

5. Cookies used on the Website

Cookie Provider Category Purpose Retention period
wp-wpml_current_language mhpglobal.ca (first-party) Strictly necessary / functional Stores the language version of the Website selected by the visitor (English or French) so that pages are displayed in the correct language Session

_ga_L0LCCTWTRB Google (Google Analytics 4) Analytics Maintains session state for the specific Google Analytics 4 property of the Website 2 years

The Website also uses the Google Tag Manager container (ID: GTM-WNL82MTJ). Google Tag Manager itself does not store personal information in cookies — it is a tool for managing the tags and scripts described above.

Additional technical cookies may be created in individual cases:

  • PHPSESSID and wordpress_* — session cookies of the content management system, set only for authorised administrators of the Website;
  • _GRECAPTCHA — set by Google reCAPTCHA where anti-spam protection is enabled on the “Become a Partner” form;
  • cookies of embedded third-party content (for example, YouTube or social network video players), if such content is placed on a page.

The list of cookies may change as the Website develops. The current list is always available in the settings of the cookie banner.

6. Third parties and international transfers

Analytics cookies are served by Google (Google LLC and/or Google Ireland Limited). By placing these cookies, Google receives technical information about your visit, including a truncated IP address, device and browser type, and the pages viewed.

Data collected by Google may be processed on servers located outside Canada, including in the United States and the European Union. Google acts under its own privacy terms:

  • Google Privacy Policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy
  • How Google uses data from partner sites: https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites

We have configured Google Analytics so that we do not receive information that would allow us to identify you directly by name.

Aggregated statistical reports from the Website may be shared within the MHP Group, including with companies located in Ukraine and the European Union.

7. How to manage cookies

7.1. Through the Website banner. Click the cookie settings link in the footer of the Website to change or withdraw your consent at any time.

7.2. Through browser settings. Every browser allows you to block or delete cookies:

  • Google Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Third-party cookies
  • Mozilla Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data
  • Safari: Settings → Privacy → Manage Website Data
  • Microsoft Edge: Settings → Cookies and site permissions

Please note: if you use several browsers or devices, the settings must be changed on each of them separately.

7.3. Opting out of Google Analytics. You may install the official Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on: https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout

7.4. Consequences of disabling. Disabling strictly necessary cookies may result in the Website not remembering your language selection and certain functions not working. Disabling analytics cookies does not affect access to the content of the Website.

8. Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control signals

We honour the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal where your browser transmits it. The “Do Not Track” (DNT) signal is not currently supported by a uniform industry standard, and therefore the Website does not respond to it.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this Cookie Policy to reflect changes to the Website, our practices or legal requirements. The current version is always published at https://mhpglobal.ca/cookies/ with the date of the last update. Material changes will be communicated through a notice on the Website.
